TVS M1-S Electric Scooter Teased

TVS Motor Company has released the official teaser for its upcoming electric scooter – the TVS M1-S. This sleek new model is expected to make its debut in Indonesia soon, and it’s grabbing attention for its impressive range, performance specs, and tech-loaded features.

A Rebadged Ion M1-S?

The M1-S appears to be a rebadged version of the Ion Mobility M1-S, following TVS’s 2023 partnership with the Singapore-based EV startup. The move signals TVS’s growing interest in international EV markets like Indonesia.

Claimed Range of 150 Km

One of the standout highlights of the TVS M1-S is its claimed range of 150 km per charge, making it highly suitable for both city commutes and occasional longer rides. The e-scooter also boasts a spacious 26-litre under-seat storage – ideal for daily utility.

Performance and Powertrain

Powering the M1-S is a 12.5 kW electric motor, delivering 45 Nm of torque. This allows the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 105 km/h. It will offer multiple battery pack options between 3.5 kWh and 5.5 kWh, with the 4.3 kWh pack achieving a full charge in under 3 hours using a standard two-pin wall plug.

Smart Tech & Features

The scooter will feature a 7-inch colour TFT display with connectivity options, multiple ride modes, reverse mode, and keyless ignition. The twin LED headlights with integrated DRLs enhance the premium look.

Suspension & Braking

Suspension duties are managed by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers with preload adjustment at the rear. It rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with wide tyres – 110/70 at the front and 120/70 at the rear. Disc brakes at both ends paired with Combi Brake System (CBS) ensure safe stopping power.

Will It Come to India?

TVS has found strong success with the iQube electric scooter in India. While the M1-S is aimed at the Indonesian market initially, it remains to be seen if TVS plans an Indian launch for this feature-rich, sporty electric scooter.
